As we continue through these difficult times, we must not lose sight of the risks created by Neglect.

Neglect remains a priority for all  of us in the Safeguarding Partnership.

 “See Something – Say Something”

The NSPCC also have resources to help both professionals and parents, and created a national helpline.

There is a new set of videos that maybe of help when parents and families feel under pressure, from dealing with all the emotional aspects of living through COVID19

There is also more help for families with babies, look into the ICON project and the help and support it can offer.

It is also important that staff working in a safeguarding role look after themselves.

Please don’t neglect your own health and well being.

Take time to look after yourself, you will not be there to help that child or family if you make yourself ill.

Each partner agency will have support services that you can use to ask advice and provide advice on now to stay well.

Make sure you know how to find them and make use of the help offered.

While “Safeguarding is Everyone’s Responsibility“, we must not Neglect those who are working with families and young people.
