BHSCP & WSSCP Safeguarding Hot Topic: Fabricated/ Induced Illness

This 1.5 hour multi-agency session will look at FII and perplexing presentations (PP), the role of agencies in FII/PP cases and identify practice guidance and discuss practice issues.

 

Training Objectives:

The aim of this session is to support your understanding and develop your knowledge around Fabricated/Induced illness and how it can present itself in practice, the role of the Children’s Sexual Assault Referral Centre and gain an awareness of the importance of working within a multi-agency context.

 

Learning Outcomes:

If you apply what you have learnt you will be able to:

• Demonstrate an awareness of FII and perplexing presentations
• Identify the role of agencies in FII/PP cases
• Describe some of the practice issues around FII/PP
• Demonstrate an awareness of updates in national guidance
