Learning and Development Group

The Learning & Development Group meets three times a year. The group is responsible for ensuring that high quality single-agency and multi-agency training on safeguarding and promoting welfare for children and young people is provided at different levels to meet local needs.

Core child protection and specialist courses are arranged throughout the year. To see more about training opportunities, click here.

The group supports the BHSCP Learning and Development Officer in the planning, delivering and evaluating of multi-agency training. This is so local practitioners and staff working with children are up to date with current legislation, local procedures and best practice. This group is key in supporting a learning culture across partner agencies. It works closely with other BHSCP subgroups, notably the Monitoring & Evaluation and Case Review groups, to ensure the learning from reviews and audit activity are informing local learning offers.
